Jack Byerley is selected to lead OWC Softball
06/11/08 - When you know what you're looking for, it sure is a lot easier to find it. That is exactly what happened to Director of Athletics/Dean of Students Mickey Englett upon his search for a new softball coach. After sifting through over 55 applications for the Okaloosa-Walton softball head coaching vacancy, one in particular grabbed his attention like no other. Raiders name Doug Martin as their new baseball coach
05/29/08 - The Okaloosa-Walton baseball program hit their biggest homerun of the year recently, and their season has been over since April. That homerun was not hit with a bat on the field, but with a pen off of the field as the Raiders inked Doug Martin as their man to lead the baseball program back to national supremacy. Martin, who was one of nearly 85 applicants for the position, has been a familiar face to the Raiders over the years. Over the past nine seasons, Martin has been the associate head coach for Pensacola Junior College, helping lead them to two Panhandle Conference championships, four state tournament appearances, and one national tournament appearance during his tenure. This unbelievable success rate has Raider fans extremely excited for the first pitch to be thrown for the 2009 season.

Walker was named the new head women's basketball coach in March from Chattanooga State Technical Community College in Tennessee where he compiled a 98-20 record during his four-year tenure, which included one state championship, two other state finals appearances, and an Elite 8 appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament in 2006. He also led two other teams to the National Elite 8 in consecutive years at Hiwassee College (Tenn.) in 2003 and 2004.
